This train (as a CN train that is) will soon be discontinued when the new WATCO short line, the Fox Valley and Lake Superior (FOXY) takes control of the Kimberly spur in addition to the New London Branch and Shawano Branch with this area of operations being based out of Appleton. |

A CN local crosses W. 2nd St. as it drops off some cars for the FV&LS (or FOXY) at the former C&NW yard at Appleton Junction, WI, on 25 Sep. '20. The former Appleton Wood Products Co. factory, now part of the Miller Electric facility, is partially visible beyond that. Built in 1916, the walls include some nice, decorative brickwork (including cast or carved keystones depicting bowling pins above the windows), which Miller obscured with cheap metal siding at some point after they bought it ca. 1975. |
