While waiting on M338, we heard CP K50 get a warrant south from Guttenberg to the NSS Dubuque. They would apparently be working in Dubuque and then returning. CP 5041 was showing as the leader, so this was a must get for both of us. Thankfully, we made it into Dubuque just in time to get it coming around the corner from the Mississippi River Dam. I dont say this very often, but thanks to MOW work going on at the switch, that helped a lot too. Its been a while since either one of us has gotten a 6-axle ECO on the front of a train. |

After grabbing Utility 3 it was time to begin heading toward home. The plan was to just get whatever UP threw at us before dark, but things werent looking too good for that. But, thanks to my dads keen eye, he noticed southbound movement on the Barstow Subdivision as we approached. Sure enough, we grabbed E-ALMATM crossing the bridge over US 30 in rural Clinton in some pretty great light. Id say this was a win! |
