See the Train, Feel the Train - Part Two |
Description: |
Regardless of the possible danger(s) involved, there is nothing more thrilling than standing less than three feet away from a speeding freight train as it sails through the station at around 45 MPH on the way from Barstow California to BNSFs Watson Yard down near the harbor. West End of the Passenger Platform at Harbor Avenue, Fullerton, California. |

[Solstice Study] The Conductor |
Description: |
About three years ago I shot at this spot with this train and captured a few twilight images that I really liked, only they were not very clear and there was a lot of grain due to shooting at a high ISO. Consequently, I had been thinking about re-shooting those images and I finally got around to doing that on the first day of Summer, 2010. |

The Santa Ana Trainmaster |
Description: |
Train Master Bruce is an individual that can be found at the train station in Fullerton California on a weekly basis. He is well known by all the L.A. to San Diego Amtrak train crews and allegedly did a turn to Kingman and back on the Chief when he got stuck on the train by mistake - or not, depending on who you talk to. From what I have observed, Bruce rides back and forth between Fullerton and Los Angeles as his whim demands and he always travels business class because that is where the coffee and pastries are available. Some famous quotes attributable to Bruce and heard around Fullerton are: (1) "Izze at Basta yet?" (2) "He's at Highland now" or "Highland now!" (3) "Hey Dave, 18 and 24 tonight, ya?" |
