Description:  Chocowinity, NC, July 1, 2015, 1:10pm: A Norfolk Southern freight train runs north on the NS line between New Bern and Chocowinity. This train appears to have a lot of empty covered hoppers and empty phosphoric acid tankers probably going to the large PotashCorp mining operation north of Aurora, NC, where phosphate is mined and phosphoric acid is made. The train appears to have 40 or 50 cars and is pulled by only one locomotive, SD70Ace NS 1126 running long hood forward.

Carolina Coastal Railway
Title:  Carolina Coastal Railway
Description:  Grimesland, North Carolina, May 23, 2019, 11:12am: Traveling in an area I didn’t know, and came up on this westbound train heading into Grimesland. I just tried to watch the GPS and see where it would take me to get ahead of the train without wrecking or getting stopped and ended up at this crossing on Brick Kiln Road just seconds before the gates went down and CLNA 4012 came through leading a loaded short hopper train (phosphate?).
