Good spot for a roll by
Title:  Good spot for a roll by
Description:  We went to the west coast in 2015 to see some of the parks, drive up the coast, and see some old friends. A friend of my wife lived in Walnut Creek, in a condo right across the street from BART. Our last day there, as we were getting set up to head out, I took some shots of the local transit operation. A train of Alstom built "C" cars approaches the Walnut Creek station.

Too much clutter
Title:  Too much clutter
Description:  Another shot I got from the bus, this time on the way from the JFK Library back to the hotel. This would be a great shot if only I could have gotten off the bus and onto the bridge to avoid the railings. Nice view of a train coming around a curve, with the Boston skyline. Bet its a great shot in the morning.

Just got off
Title:  Just got off
Description:  I had to go to Rosslyn VA to pick up something, and took this train. I grabbed the shot as I got off there. I lived in NY for many years, which lights its stations pretty well. Im always amazed at how dimly lit the WMATA stations are.

Metro Center
Title:  Metro Center
Description:  The stations on WMATA tend to be cavernous, and to my NYCTA mind, quite dark, adding to their cavern like qualities. The trainsfer stations, with their tunnels in two directions, are only more so. Metro Center, where the Red Line crosses the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines is one of those. Were looking at the Red Line station from the balcony above the platform.

Title:  Yard and shop
Description:  I was on a bus tour of Washington, and we stopped for a light here adjacent to the Ivy City yard, which enabled this shot of the WMATA yard there.
