Twenty black GP40 loaners were built for short term use while cracks were repaired on GP35s and GP40s . The issue occurred at the weld between the center bearing and the bottom plate. All these GP40s were built in 1969 on 2 different orders, then sold after completion of the repairs. One of these, #2071 went to the Milwaukee Road in 1970. Modified with Dash2 electrical gear & sold/renumbered a few times, #3050 is the lone survivor. |

Sent to Morrison-Knudsen in 1975 along with 9 other RS3s to be rebuilt to TE-56-4A with 12-251C prime mover(2000HP), new generator, rebuilt traction motors, 26L brake, improved controls, new wiring, chopped nose and new dynamic brake gear in box behind cab. The 506 was numbered 1976, painted red/white/blue and named "Spirit of Freedom" before shipment. Sold to Tioga Central as #506 in 1988. Sold to Livonia Avon & Lakeville/WNY&P in 2014. Additionally the long hood was raised 6" during the MK rebuild. |

Owned by the Western New York Railway Historical Society. Originally named Leonard Calvert and built by Budd in 1952, the car is one of 16 parlors built for Congressional service. It retains the original interior layout of 29 swivel seats with individual tables and a 5 person drawing room. WNYP keeps the car indoors in Olean on the Society’s behalf and uses it from time to time. The car was renamed to honor a patron of the Society who was instrumental in saving and restoring the car. |

CNR Class PV-68/PV-69, rebuilt Nov.1929-May 1930 with steel fish belly underframe(truss rods), steel sheathing and new interior. Modernized by CNR in 1963. Retired by CNR Feb.1976, and sold to Robert Bennatts of Peck MI. Acquired 1988 by the Arkansas & Missouri RR, renumbered #100, named Traveller. Acquired May 1998 by the LA&L RR. |

#6764 MLW 1958...ex VIA/Canadian National same number. In 1958 trailing cab unit #6758 was upgraded to FPA2u by exchanging the original Model 244 prime mover for a 12-251B. However the rebuilt cab kept the FA2 configuration of air compressor aftercooler so no venting was necessary below the radiator intake. Both were repainted last year. |

In 2016 CSX announced the donation of a General Electric B30-7 locomotive to the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society. Before transporting the locomotive to the society’s railroad museum in North East, PA, the CSX Huntington (WV) shop restored the locomotive to it’s original as-delivered Chessie paint scheme. Prior to arriving at the Lake Shore Railway Museum, C&O #8272 made a stop at the GE Transportation Erie facility. The locomotive was displayed in Building 10 for a brief private showing. Arrival at NSRM was in June 2017 |
