Sitting next to the former Great Northern depot at Fergus Falls, MN (the new home of MNN) is Minnesota Northern GP9 1848. Built in January of 1959 as Nickel Plate Road #814, this "boomer" loco then bounced to the N&W as #2814, then DME as #1484 before landing on the Minnesota Northern roster. Sitting in front of the Otter Tail Valley RR engine house is Minnesota Northern GP9 #1483. Built by EMD in January of 1959 as Nickel Plate Road #813, it was absorbed onto the Norfolk & Western roster as their #2813, then sold to Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern as their #1483 before finally landing on the Minnesota Northern roster.
