MEC 258 |
Description: |
A wander round Burlington on my arrival back in 1981 found this trio of GP38's plus another loco at right which I cannot identify. I have found out that these 3 Geeps were hired to the DME Railroad around this time, possibly by Helm Leasing but retained their MEC identities. 258 was eventually acquired by Ottowa Valley Raillink as OVRL 2000, passing to Rail America as RLK 3873. It then passed to Southern Ontario Raillink as SOR 3873 and finally getting the corporate livery as RLHH 2081. MEC 256 first went to Central Oregon and Pacific as CORP 3815 and ultimately to Toledo, Peoria and Western as TPW 2056. MEC 263 went to Yadkin Valley Railroad as YVRR 3617, then to Helm as HLCX 3617. It passed to Carolina Southern as CALA 3617 then to Progressive Rail as PRLX 3617. |
