PRR 6302, AF-27, 1965
Title:  PRR 6302, AF-27, 1965
Description:  Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6302 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. #6302 was constructed in March of 1965. They're in the middle of an ore train, helping to move it up the Allegheny Mountains. Note that the eastbound coal train pulled by engine #9530 remains stopped at the far right, while the coal train pulled by engine #7059 has since proceeded into Altoona's Eastbound Receiving Yard. (#20 of 44)
