Title:  RF 11

Elegant station
Title:  Elegant station
Description:  An eastbound Oyster Bay train arrives at the elegant station at Locust Valley, one of the higher end North Shore communities on the branch. The station has a variation on the usual gambrel roof style, with Spanish tile instead of shingles. Also, it has Roman style columns, versus the more typical brick pillars.

Pushing past the team tracks
Title:  Pushing past the team tracks
Description:  An Oyster Bay train pushes through Queens Village on its way to Jamaica. At left is the Queens Village team yard, an anachronism on most railroads by this time, but a place where cars could be unloaded by consignees without a siding of their own, not unusual in the city. By this time it was used mostly by MOW crews, but still got revenue cars.

Working for the road
Title:  Working for the road
Description:  RF 7, the west end day freight, works at Fresh Pond, pulling cars down from Conrail on the overhead ex NH line. Trailing unit 167 is set up to work as a power pack on passenger trains. Here we see that such units are not exempt from freight service when the need arises.
