Milwaukee 1052, a 4-6-0, by the water tank. The 11.7 mile Shullsburg branch was abandoned in 1956. Number 1052 was built by Baldwin in August 1901 (c/n 19470) as CM&StP 4-6-0 Class B-4 Vulclain compound (15&25X28 cylinders, 62 inch drivers) number 375. Renumbered in October 1907 as CM&StP 1725, renumbered in September 1912 as CM&StP 4325, rebuilt in November 1917 to simple (22X28 cylinders, 63 inch drivers), reclassed G-7-bs and renumbered 2875, renumbered in December 1920 to CM&StP 2869, renumbered in June 1938 to CMStP&P 1052, scrapped in February 1954. |

Originally built as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #375 in August of 1901, the loco served well but with a variety of numbers - renumbered in 10/1907 to #1725, renumbered in 9/1912 to #4325, renumbered in 11/1917 to #2875, renumbered in 12/1920 to #2869, renumbered in 6/1938 to #1052. The loco was scrapped in February of 1954. |
