Description:  Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1916 as Canadian Northern Rwy #2476, it merged onto the CN roster in 1919. Specs - serial #59423, class N-2-b, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 241,500 lb, tractive effort of 49,737 lb. The locomotive was scrapped in October of 1961.No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo but obviously its at the Orillia depot in Ontario. Bruce Gemmel found the photographer to be Herbert Harwood with an approximate date of 7/16/58.

Description:  Heading up a freight running through the Canadian countryside is the 1918 Montreal Locomotive Works 2-8-0 originally built as Canadian Northern Rwy #2476. Specs - serial #59423, class N-2-b, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 241,500 lb, tractive effort of 49,737 lb. The locomotive was scrapped in October of 1961. Althouth no date, location or photographer was listed for the photo, Bruce Gemmel found the info. The location is the Hawkestone bridge (near Orilia, Ontario) taken on 7/16/1958 by either Herbert Harwood or Jon Rehor and similar to one taken by Don Wood. Thanks, Bruce, for all you help!
