Backing down |
Description: |
The power for LISE is backing down past Lutheran Cemetery in Queens as it heads to pick up its train, and return to Oak Point yard in the Bronx. There it will gather any cars for Selkirk, returning up the Hudson Line after rush hour. Note the catenary supports still hanging over the tracks. In New Haven days, this was a big time electrified freight line. |

No, its not the one youre thinking of. LISE soars over the Grand Central Parkway as it approaches Hell Gate. The parkway below leads to the Triboro Bridge, which runs alongside the railroad bridge into the Bronx. Its a great place to watch the action. |

Ready to go back |
Description: |
WNOP17 has picked up its Long Island interchange cars and is ready to go back to Oak Point. The consist of three B 23-7's was common. A real treat was to see one or more of CR's only four U36B's, which were regular visitors to the Island. |

Here comes Conrail |
Description: |
The power for RF 7 sits to the side as WNOP17 arrives from Oak Point yard in the Bronx. Theyll swap cars and the CR job will be on its way back in 30 minutes. Since CR sold the Bay Ridge line to the LIRR several years earlier, the job from the Bronx is now a turn, since CR does not have to work the branch. |
