Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original telephoto view that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during May of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is PRR engine #7250 and a GP-9 B-unit whose number is not visible. Both were built by EMD. #7250 is an EFS-17M built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight. |
