Title:  Minneapolis MN main depot in 1971.
Description:  Used by the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, CB&Q, and CNW. At its peak it saw around 140 trains a day. This was demolished in the 1980s. The St Paul MN depot looks like this and was saved and will re open to Amtrak in Dec 2012.

Description:  Amazingly the entire Skally line is intact in WBL itself, ending up in Hugo to the north and Maplewood to the south. Rest of the route in the eastern TC metro is without rails and now largely trails. Here, though, it is easy to imagine the glory days when not only NP but Milwaukee and C&NW trains graced these rails going to and from the Twin Ports.

Description:  Now in the midst of eastern Twin City suburbia, the former Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern station in White Bear Lake is still extant as a museum today. Trains even still pass by in the form of locals run by the Minnesota Commercial railway which leases the former NP "Skally" line in the foreground from the BNSF.
