L&N GP9 2392 sits at the Goulding Yard engine facility in Pensacola. It's orginal number was L&N 516; it later became SBD 2392. This unit was part of an order for eight boiler-equipped GP9s bought in 1956. Originally equipped with "torpedo tube" air tanks on the roof, the road obviously modifed some when the S/G came out and the air tanks were moved under the frame in the space previously occupied by the water tanks. |
