RMPX 6424 (GP40-2) of DT&I and GTW heritage with cotton from collision on nose
RMPX 6424 (nee GTW 6424 and DTI 424) shows the after effects of the collision and resulting fire from a grade crossing accident on the Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway between Monroeville and Atmore, AL. Ironically, the cotton was picked from the same fields that line both sides of the railroad in this row-crop, flatland region of Alabama.
