Tom Beckett General This is the D&H Penn Division, running along the Susquehana River between Nineveh Jct, near Harpursville NY, and Scranton PA. This would have been one of the last trains to use the route, which had been abandoned south of Jefferson Jct, just south of Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro PA after the D&H acquired the former DLW main between Binghamton and Scranton. The segment between Nineveh and Lanesboro was kept as a detour route for high and wide loads that could not fit through Belden Tunnel. The tunnel was enlarged and reopened in 1986, with trains detouring via this route while the construction was going on. Nice catch of an unusual operation. 2/13/2025 6:53:08 AM
