BO GP40-2 #GM50 - GM Annversay Special  Contributor's Pick!
B&O had a newly built GP40-2 painted solid gold & numbered "GM50" to celebrate GM's 50th year of building locomotives. Known as the golden Anniversary Special, it was painted a solid gold color including its trucks. Eventually it was repainted in 1984 and renumbered B) 4164. When it joined the CSX family, it was renumbered again as CSX #6063. The loco is automatically destined for the B&O Museum upon retirement. Thanks Jason Trew (see comment below) for the correction and information.
