Built as CP 52 seat chair-16 seat smoker #2252, 1 of 99 such cars (#2200-#2298) built in 1947-1949 as shells by CC&F and NSC and completed by the CP shops through 1950. In 1973, CP sold 15 of these cars to the British Columbia Provincial Museum for use with CP Royal Hudson #2860; the #2252 was named CLINTON. 6 of these cars were later sold to the Mount Rainier Scenic; the CLINTON as the #582 MORTON.
