Here is a good example of a 1918-19 Alco built USRA "heavy" Mikado, orginally #8611. Specs - 63" drivers, 27" x 32" cylinders, a 190 psi boiler pressure and 59,800 lb of tractive effort, engine weight of 325,000 lb. The class was scapped between 1938-56. Max Miller photo |
