Alan Page General Thanks, Fred. The initial excitement of finally seeing EL, LV, RDG, and CNJ units on formerly all PC black rails was soon tempered by the worn out condition of once great, reliable locomotives. Many of the great locomotives like EL F7's, E8's, and RS3's, LV C628's and RS3's, and CNJ RS3's were just too beat up by the time Conrail came to be.
