Built in 1926, OVERBROOK Tower was a more conservative and less-ornamented design than many of the earlier PRR constructed switch towers. Built completely of masonary with a concrete foundation and a brick first and second floor, OVERBROOK is rectangular in plan, constructed with steel and concrete framing and contains an internal stairway and second floor restroom. A projecting second floor trackside bay window contained the US&S Model 14 switch machine with 19 active levers that controlled a full four track crossover. As of today, OVERBROOK is still an actively manned interlocking tower. |
