PRR 8653, AS-18M, 1960
Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #8653, an AS-18M built by the American Locomotive Company in 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. It is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train into the Hollidaysburg Yards. The Passenger Station is to the immediate rear. You can almost hear the crossing-gate bells ringing! #8 of 12.
