Wye Switches. Here is the third of three time exposures that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains at the Wye Switches in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, on 18 September 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #6000 and #6009. Both are EF-25A's built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They are pushing an 84-car freight train from Altoona up the New Portage Branch Line via the Muleshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. The caboose is #478081. Duncansville's Fifth Street is in the photo's center, while Second Avenue is on the left. |
