Coaling Tipple. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's coaling tipple in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 11 September 1965. Shown here are some of the decomissioned steam locomotive tenders that have been placed in storage. Also visible on the right is PRR engine #4042, an AS-15M built by the American Locomotive Company in 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. |
