Muleshoe. Here is a photo from page 35 of Mr. Robert L. Emerson's 1984 book entitled "Allegheny Passage: An Illustrated History Of Blair County." Shown here are a wood-burning 4-4-0 "American" locomotive and a wooden passenger car. Heading downgrade toward Duncansville, they are poised on the single-tracked New Portage Railroad line circa 1857.
