Typical commuter service power in the 1970's was the fleet of yellow & green Chicago North Western E8A's like this one built by EMD in May of 1953. The unit served until retirement by the RTA on May 2, 1983. It was then sold for scrap. Unknown photographer.

Tom Beckett General I have always liked the CNW scheme, just great colors. Their E's were interesting in that they had no numberboards. Look at all that ancient equipment in the background!! 2/5/2018 2:47:44 AM
