PRR "Pennsylvania 4911," GG-1, 1955         
Here is a postal card entitled "Pennsylvania 4911." No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "Passenger tuscan red GG-1 electric locomotive No. 4911 backs down to couple on to its train at South Amboy, N.J., August 6, 1955. Photo by Charles L. Ballard." #4911 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during January of 1942 and rated at 4,620 horsepower.

Tom Beckett General Interesting to see one of the Congressional painted G's at South Amboy. That will keep you humble!! The saving grace is that the power it's swapping for could well be a K 4s, though a set of pinstriped Baldwin sharks wouldn't be a disappointment!! 12/26/2018 4:55:05 AM
