This appears to be a photo taken by J. R. Quinn shortly after this 2-10-4 loco was delivered in 1938. After the success of the first ten 2-10-4 Selkirks ordered in 1928, Canadian Pacific put in a 2nd one to MLW. "Selkirk" is the name that CP used for the 2-10-4 configuration rather than the US version "Texas". Specs - 63" drivers, impressive 285 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" cylinders, engine weight of 447,000 lb, tractive effort of 76,905 lb. |
