Sad sight to see this 2-8-0 narrow gauge Consolidation sitting in a dead line. Built by the Brooks Locomotive Works in June of 1898 as Denver & Northwestern #32, it bounced through several rosters - Denver, Boulder & Western #32, Morse Brothers Machinery and eventually Colorado & Southern as #76. But, its travels were not over. The loco was sold to Cerro de Pasco Copper Co of Lima, Peru in 1948 and served there unti the mid-1960's. Specs - serial #2970, class B-4-F-p. Harold Vollrath photo |
