RUT 0-6-0 #100 - Rutland
Busy at work shuffling passenger cars is this Rutland 0-6-0 yard switcher #100. Built by Alco-Cooke in June of 1907, it was originally numbered 445 but in 1914 it was renumbered RUT 100. There is some discrepancy in the date it was scrapped. One source has it scrapped in September of 1924 and another in 1951, yet the photo is dated August of 1932. Unless there were two #100's, I side with the 1951 date! Specs - serial #43035, class B-2a, 54" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, engine weight of 136,000 lb, tractive effort of 29,300 lb. W.E.
