| Newly-remanufactured CSX AC4400CWM 7274 was on the Wabtec-BNSF interchange track near Fort Worth, Texas. The locomotive wears serial No. 47581 and had been built in June 1994 as CSX 9100. This was the very first production model AC4400CW and CSX’s first locomotive with AC traction motors. The next year it was renumbered 1, then in 2001 it was named SPIRIT OF WEST VIRGINIA and in 2021 it was renumbered as the second 173 so that the number 1 could be used on F40 9998 (ex-Amtrak 280). The first 173 had been rebuilt into AC4400CWM 7007 in 2019-2020. |
