R2W. Here is the fourth of 13 original photos that I took while riding in an Amtrak passenger train from Rye, New York, to Washington, DC, on 26 July 1987. Shown here (R to L) are Conrail engines #2013 and #1924. Both are B23-7's built by General Electric and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #2013 was constructed in September of 1979, while #1924 was built in May of 1978. In this context, they're pulling a southbound freight train through Mamaroneck, New York. |
