New Haven Comet
Description:
A likely publicity photo of the unique New Haven Comet 3-car, double-ended, lightweight diesel-electric passenger train. It was built by Goodyear (yes, the tire and airship company) in 1935. This photo shows it in its 1941 livery. The slide had no information on it, so the date is approximate, and the photographer and location are unknown. From the Ralph L. Phillips collection of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum.
