PRR 5705, EP-22, 1954
Title:  PRR 5705, EP-22, 1954
Description:  Here is an image of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken at Penn Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 3 January 1954. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5705 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5705 was constructed in September of 1952. It looks to me like the only "passenger" on the platform is the pigeon in the foreground! Edward Kaspriske Collection.

Description:  Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in St. Louis, Missouri, on 5 December 1960. Prominent here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5889, #5705, and an E-7 unit whose number is not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5889 and #5705 are EP-22's and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5889 was built in April of 1950, while #5705 was produced in September of 1952. Looks to me like they're departing with a passenger train destined for Pittsburgh and points East. ("LouisFols"; #27 of 39)
