Description:  Northbound Coal. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Philip R. Hastings that was taken near Roaring Branch, Pennsylvania, on 5 May 1957. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4632, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during October of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in January of 1931, and retired in January of 1960. It's pushing a northbound coal train along with two PRR Diesel locomotives: #5756 and #5757. Both are AFP-20's built by the American Locomotive Company in November of 1947, rated at 2,000 horsepower each, and retired in September of 1962. Also visible is PRR N-5C cabin car #477859. Looking on is fellow photographer Jim Shaughnessy.
