Description: |
WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8911 and #8590. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #8911 is an AS-16MS built in 1951, but #8590 is an AS-16M built in 1955. They are pulling a southbound mixed-cargo freight train through the North Philadelphia Station. |
