Description:  WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8911 and #8590. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #8911 is an AS-16MS built in 1951, but #8590 is an AS-16M built in 1955. They are pulling a southbound mixed-cargo freight train through the North Philadelphia Station.

Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8590 and #8676. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company. #8590 is an AS-16M constructed in December of 1955 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. #8676 is an AS-18M built in March of 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. The photographers name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
