Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9768, #7249, and #9392. All were built by EMD. #9768 is an EF-15A built in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #7249 is an EFS-17M built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9392 is an ES-12 built in 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; it is just being towed, however. They are pulling a 93-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477807. There are also two pushers on the end: PRR engines #8608 and #8613.

Road Power. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad road locomotives in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 02 September 1960. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9796 and #9772. Both are EF-15A's built by GM-EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. Along with an N-5 caboose, these locomotives are backing into the Hollidaysburg Yards. They would have been driven forward from East Altoona to the Wye Switches, turned about, and then run backwards from the Wye into Hollidaysburg where they would pick-up an outbound freight train. The PRR's Freight Station is visible at the left, and Hollidaysburg's historic Chimney Rocks can be seen in the far distance.

Road Power. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad road locomotives in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 02 September 1960. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9796 and #9772. Both are EF-15A's built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. The crew has coupled onto a long string of new 70-ton hopper cars and have just passed the "HOLLY" bloc telephone. This photo was taken at the Bedford Street Crossing, next to the Passenger Station. From here, this train will pass WYE Tower, climb the Allegheny Mountains using the New Portage Branch Line, and merge eventually with the mainline at Gallitzin.

Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 7 April 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9777 and three others whose numbers are not visible. #9777 is an EF-15A built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. Its crew is climbing aboard, and will soon head out of the Hollidaysburg Yards with a 38-car freight train and caboose #477806. They will pass WYE Tower, climb the Allegheny Mountains by way of the New Portage Branch and the Muleshoe Curve, and then merge with the mainline at Gallitzin. Most of the cars in this train are new 70-ton hopper cars, just produced at the Samuel Rea Shop in Hollidaysburg. The PRR Shop Car in the foreground is used to transport newly-finished wheels-and-axles from the Altoona Shops to the Samuel Rea Shop. The Trailer Train autocarrier on the left is on its way for repairs at the Berwind-White Car Shops.

Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2347, #2312, #2337, #9787, and #9806-B. All were built by EMD. #2347, #2312, and #2337 are EF-25's built in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #9787 and #9806-B are EF-15A's built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. They are pulling a 164-car mixed-cargo freight train past ALTO Tower (not visible on the right) on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. The caboose is #477636. Bringing-up the rear are "pushers" #6305 and #6309. This photo taken from the steps of ALTO Tower.

They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge with 154 empty hopper cars on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West.

Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania,?on 09 August 1961. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8669 and #8672. Both are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower eoch. They are pulling a train of new hopper cars (produced by the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop) across the Jackson Street Crossing, and are on their up the New Portage Branch via the Muleshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. This photo taken from the fireman's side of PRR engine #9790, an EMD EF-15A on static display as part of Hollidaysburg's 125th Anniversary Celebration. A portion of Broad Street is also visible on the left, along with the automobile belonging to the PRR Policeman who was guarding the one-engine-and-four-cat display train.
