Shown here is a scene following the wreck of the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Red Arrow" passenger train. PRR engine #422 has been pulled up the embankment, almost level with trackside. #422 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1917 and scrapped in April of 1947 after 30 years of service. Here is the photo from a one-page article entitled "Death By Rail: 22 Die When A Train Jumps Curve." It was published originally in the 3 March 1947 issue of "Life" magazine, page 38. Photo Caption: "Sprawling down a 150-foot embankment, the Pennsylvania Railroad's crack 'Red Arrow' lies shattered at a sharp curve in the Allegheny Mountains." Discernable in the very center of the photo is the wreckage of two PRR K-4S "Pacifics": #422 and #3771. The photographer is not identified.

WB. Here is an image of a photo of (R to L) Pennsylvania Railroad engines #482 and #2062. Both were built in Juniata. #482 is a K-2 constructed as a K-2 during July of 1910, rebuilt as a K-2S in September of 1912, and retired in March of 1932. #2062 is an E-3A (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in 1905 and retired in April of 1931.
